FAQ

All current homeschoolers, homeschool parents and grandparents, and homeschool graduates are invited. Guests of attendees and friends do not need to be homeschoolers, but in general, anyone staying overnight should be. Exceptions may be requested by contacting us.
Any family-friendly music is allowed at the Fest. Most of our bands play some variety of bluegrass or country-style, but we have some contemporary and eclectic as well.
Camp Galilee has outdoor volleyball courts, a human foosball field, and a multi-sided wooden pit used for playing Galilee Ball, a game similar to dodgeball. A crowd can be found enjoying these activities virtually every hour of the day - and night, in the case of volleyball. The camp is a beautiful place to just hang out under the shade of the trees, and the air-conditioned dining hall makes a comfortable atmosphere for visiting or playing indoor games. Read more on What To Expect at HSMF.
Some meals are provided, with arrangements varying each year. Please review our Meals page for current information.
Our standard rustic cabins sleep up to 15 people, with a typical cabin featuring several bunk beds plus a couple of twin-size cots. These cabins have been updated to include AC now!! Also have electrical outlets for your own fans, small appliances, or device chargers. Restrooms and showers are a short walk away. People with special sleeping needs should consider bringing their own air mattress/mattress topper to be sure of a good night's sleep. We have a limited number of cabins with dividers for families who want two semi-private "rooms."
RV hookups include water and electric, but not septic. We have (2) 50 amp sites available; the other hookups are 30 amp.
There is no dress code, but we ask that a standard of modesty would be upheld at all times. Since standards vary, please err on the side of greater modesty when choosing what to wear. Camp Galilee also requests that closed-toed shoes be worn at all times. This is a recommendation for maximum safety and not a requirement to attend:o) HSMF is not responsible for accidents on the premises.
While we encourage participants to visit the nearby lake, swimming, fishing, and boating are not allowed unless prior arrangements have been made with us. The camp swimming pool is off limits at all times.
Camp Galilee requests that all attendees omit the following: alcohol, drugs, or tobacco products, weapons (including knives), and fireworks.
We cannot guarantee to meet any special requirements for lodging, but if you will contact us and describe the issue or need, we will do our best to find a solution. We don't want anyone to miss Homeschool Music Fest!
Yes... please bring your own bedding and towels.
Pets other than service animals are not allowed at Camp Galilee.
There is a worship service at 10:30 A.M. in the outdoor tabernacle.
Glad you asked! The main thing every attendee can do is to observe the camp's rules and make an effort to ensure your family behaves in an orderly, courteous manner at all times. Also, the camp owners appreciate it if we all try to clean up after ourselves at least minimally, and avoid leaving any kind of trash lying around when HSMF is over.
